Christmas Tournament

shc2_comp_final

Thanks to all who contributed the Crusader 2 Christmas Tournament was the big success we’d all hoped for. From the players who fought as combatants and shed blood on the virtual battlefield to those who followed the tournament on Facebook and YouTube, your support and enthusiasm was hugely encouraging for the team. As we continue to improve Multiplayer in the wake of the Winter Update it is encouraging to see people enjoying competitive multiplayer and showing the team a few new tricks!
After a series of tough battles the dust has settled, our Crusader Lords and Ladies can now finally lay down their swords and gather their strength before the next great battle. In the meantime…

Everyone at Firefly would like to congratulate our victorious players!

Our tournament grand final was a close match where two Crusader giants FireRanger and Micha! clashed heads. Using their finest medieval tactics on the ‘Breath of Life’ Multiplayer map, each player eagerly struggled to end the life of the enemy Lord as quickly as possible. As experts in the art of warfare neither player lost control over their large array of workers and soldiers at any point during the match. As soon as Peace Time was over Micha! launched his assault. Without allowing him any time to catch his breath, Micha! pushed on despite FireRanger’ ability to turtle up and defend himself. This siege of attrition lasted for some time but eventually Micha! became increasingly aggressive, tearing down his weakened and exposed castle walls. In a final deadly stroke Micha! set FireRanger’s castle aflame, almost instantly securing his victory in a blazing inferno of classic, bread-and-butter Crusader tactics.

Once again we hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas Tournament! As a special mention one winner, who shall remain nameless, was even kind enough to give up their prize. Handing it to another contestant who was unable to reach the semi-finals themselves, we loved seeing true sportmanship on show and hope this tournament won’t be the last. Although we don’t have anything specific to announce just yet with regards to future tournaments, given the response from players and our fantastic host Sergiu we would love to do it again.
