With the release date for Stronghold Crusader 2 set to be announced next week we thought this would be a great time to give players a preview of the Stronghold Crusader 2 soundtrack, set to footage of a recent multiplayer game. Watch in awe as our Marketing Manager goes head-to-head with our Lead QA (and loses pretty badly).
We hope you enjoyed the footage and the rousing score that accompanies it! Long time Stronghold composer Robert Euvino has been with us from the very beginning, crafting the kind of atmosphere you expect from the series, ever since the very first Stronghold back in 2001. Rob has been hard at work on the new game’s soundtrack and sound effects lately, but he wanted to reach out and say a few words on the new score:
“The Crusader genre in general is amongst my favourite to work on, mostly because it allows me to explore a lot of exotic instruments that I don’t often get the opportunity to play with. As far as the music goes I’ll pretty much be sticking to the same formula as I did for Crusader 1, which was a combination of sampled instruments alongside live players. While the latest technology is getting better and better and sounds fantastic, I can tell you that nothing compares – And probably will ever compare – With the real thing. It’s also a great excuse to get together with some super talented musicians who play all these various eccentric instruments and, while I am the composer and arranger, these other players really deserve a lot of the credit for helping create the atmosphere you’ll be hearing.”
